This product review is one that Mrs. Green Gear should take all the credit for. Dropps are eco-friendly, highly concentrated, individually packaged laundry detergent packets that are a good alternative to regular liquid detergent. The packaging is minimal, recyclable, and biodegradable.
We’ve been using these dropps for about three weeks and overall we think they are a great product. You don’t need any fabric softener, dropps does the work for you. For someone who is laundry averse, they’re great because no matter what, one packet. They are made for HE (high efficiency) washing machines but will work with any of them. Also, the chemicals are not hazzardous and have not been tested on animals. So alls good right?
Well, while I feel this product could become the next “take for granted” green product. Right now it doesn’t pass the joneses test, it’s just too pricey. 60 loads runs $25 bucks, which is almost double what you can get at wal-mart or sam’s club. It really is a shame because the consumer really isn’t saving anything. All the energy savings is on the production, storage, and transportation of the product due to it’s small size, so why is it more expensive if it saves all this expense on the part of the producer? Why? Because they are pricing well, that’s why. The “environmental” laundry category is still a niche, and one that has a higher willingness to pay. But I really think Dropps is missing the boat here, How quick did 2x concentrated pick up? Dropps could change the way the ENTIRE WORLD does laundry if the priced a little lower.
But as is, this is a well made, innovative, and eco-friendly product that is just a bit too pricey for my taste.. but that’s just me. As is, we’re giving it three out of five gears. (as it fails the “practical” and “mass appeal” tests!)
Check out dropps, buy some for yourself. We’ll probably keep using them because Mrs. Green Gear likes them, but I really wish they were 2-3 bucks cheaper.

Thanks for the great video on dropps! I am a diehard user, and I recently found them at Wal-Mart for only $4.97 in their great new pouch. Way cheaper than pricey Whole Foods.
Thanks for the heads up! I am not sure that they have them at our Wal-Mart, but will definately send out a searach party to look!
