POM P’POM pom POM!
Now I know what you’re thinking! How on earth is Mr. Green Gear doing a green product review of pomagranate juice? Wonderful POMagranate juice? Is he off this rocker? Is there something else in that juice?
NO! I am not off my rocker! It just so happens that the lovely people over at POM Wonderful Pomagrante Juice just went through the painstaking process of having their building LEED certified! Yes, that’s right. POM juice is now, by investing in ever more efficient and sustainable ways to do the business that they do, which by the way is making great juice, a green product. That’s right, it just happened… I declared it.
The logic here shouldn’t be controversial. A product need not be a CFL or low-flow showerhead to be considered a green product. Those things are all well and good but I say that ANY product that has made efforts to make their production/promotion stream more sustainable (which having your building LEED certified is earns the title of “green” product because it arrives at the client with less of an environmental impact than it otherwise would have been.
Does this mean that almost any could be green? Yes, it does… isn’t that dandy!
Back to the juice! POM Wonderful juice is full of antioxidants and is GREAT for the heart. As someone what tries to keep an eye on artery clogging food a juice like this is an important part of a diet. As with all pomegranate products, it has a tart taste to it that is surprising at first, but give it time. You’ll come around. Also, Mrs. Green Gear says it makes a great mixer.
This is a high quality product so don’t expect this stuff to be cheap, it commands a premium price at the local food mart.
But over all this is a great tasting product with wonderful health benefits and on top of that, it just got a little greener!
