I am a manufacturer of specialty nozzles for golf course irrigation (www.fcinozzles.com). I introduced a very unique nozzle for hand watering greens 4 yrs ago and was awarded a patent last year. The device breaks the water stream at very low pressure into uniform, rain size droplets. There are no small holes to plug. Over the last year, I have developed this nozzle invention into a 1.5 gpm shower head and am now in production with it. It is equipped with a flexible diaphragm that regulates the water pressure going into the shower head. The actual pressure of the nozzle is only 10 to 15 psi. The flow rate is fairly constant from 30 to 80 psi (1.35 to 1.5 gpm). The water droplets are large, the spray is full, and the spray diameter is about shoulder width. It has the feel of much more than 1.5 gpm and the spray velocity is strong enough to rinse soap out of hair, but is not painful. Would you be interested in evaluating my new shower head?

Hi Green Gear,

I’m with Ripple Effect Relations, a new, teeny, tiny public relations firm working to give a voice to eco consumer brands like Mission Playground, econscious and SolarFocus. I was wondering whom I should contact with new product information about our clients?

We are sincerely interested in building a relationship with your blog’s authors and would like to know if you are interested in receiving new product pitches.

Respectfully and sincerely,
Liz Hutchins

Hello Mr. and Mrs. Greengear! I love the site, and way to bring information on product reviews for becoming greener….excellent idea.

I am debating between the Evovle Roadrunner and the Bricor Ultra Max. Seeing as you guys would be the people to ask….any suggestions?

Well Chris,

It depends, if money is not an option and you like a spa type shower, pick any of the bricors (super, ultra, or regular max). If you want a good quality, gentle shower, and want to save a few bucks I’d get the evolve. Also, if you use the code ‘greengear09′ with evolve, you get 25% off your order!

For me, in terms of just “shower quality,” I got Bricor Elite, Delta Contemporary 1.5, High Sierra, Evolve, Bricor .55GPM

The “greenest” option is the Bricor Ultramax.

This is a weird question but the Post Office tried to deliver a certified large envelope to me on 6/9 but they have since LOST the envelope – can you believe it. I don’t know why you’d be sending me something except that I do have a Bike Friday bike. Maybe I won a wonderful contest! Anyway – whatever you sent I don’t have it and there’s a good chance I won’t get it. The carrier who left the slip in my door is off today. No one can find it. Any info you have would be appreciated.

I just found a card of Zane Jones at a coffee shop in downtown Columbus yesterday and decided to check the site out this morning. It’s very interesting and I’d love to see even more reviews come your way.

I noticed the RSS feed link on the top of the page is not working. I would also be curious about a mail list to email new updates when they are posted, but I don’t see any subscribe links for that.

Thanks!
Travis

I was wondering if you knew of any recycled facial tissue that was 100% recycled and would be at all appealing to the common American; i.e., really soft.

Mr. Green Gear,
I like you site and what you’ve done to promote green products and prevent green-washing. I have a site focused on residential energy/water conservation and part of that involves me reviewing products. Most recently I reviewed the Ecobee smart thermostat:
Mapawatt Blog Ecobee review
and my review on the TED 5000 home energy monitor has been incredibly popular:
Mapawatt Blog TED 5000 review
So how do we join forces and shine the light (LED of course) on good green products that are out there?
